Udta Punjab is a crime thriller co-written and directed by Abhishek Chaubey. Produced by Shobha and Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures, in association of Phantom Films, the movie deals with the issue of substance abuse among the youth in the affluent North Indian city of Punjab.

This increased use of drugs has resulted in a socio-economic decline in the state. The movie portrays four characters from different walks of life fighting the menace of drugs in their own way.
